Aloha....still

I didn't think I would be able to get online again, but we're just sitting in the condo and ali just fell asleep in Joe's arms on the couch.

So...the plane ride here was a bitch. Hot, uncomfortable and there was a toddler laying across my lap the entire trip. yuck. But we got here and the air conditioning in our rental car was a welcome feeling. We have a cool condo. Right at the end of the street in Maalaea Bay. We just walk out our condo and down the sidewalk, right past the pool and onto the beach. The Beach is nice, although the area is really windy so there are only a few places worth laying out in if you don't want to be sandblasted. The water is calm and there are a few places where there is a break in the coral and you can swim. Very cool.

We went to D.T. Flemming beach on Sunday and the waves were HUGE! We spent the few hours we were there jumping into and through them. We had a blast. Then we went into Lahaina for dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Not bad, but definetely not a Tommy's Burger Stop.

Yesterday we drove to the upcountry where we went to the Alii Lavender farm. They have over 45 species of lavender! and in the giftshop they had soaps, lotions and FOOD! They had jams, honey, vinegars and dressings, spices, and baking sets. And some of it actually tasted good. I picked up a gift for someone very special (you can all think it's you...but it's probably not).

Then we drove down to the Surfing Goat Farm where they raise, breed, and milk goats and make cheese. AMAZING cheese. Again, I bought something for someone very special (and again, you can be dissappointed it isn't you).

I'm such a giving thoughtful person. Sigh...I love me!

Anyway...Then last night we ran to Lahaina and rented some scuba gear and then came back to the condo and had steak salad with feta from the fabulous farm. It was the best feta I've ever eaten. SO SO GOOD!

Today we took it easy and then went to see Kirsten and meet Jason. it was a brief meeting because they've been dealing with their wedding stuff. and then we attempted to meet up with her family but it was a big mess and we missed them. BUT we did find the beach that Niki couldn't find last time she was here and it was a bitch! I had to ask 3 people on the side of the road for help and none of them had clear directions. We only stayed for 10 minutes. Yeah, i know...all that trouble...oh well. It was infront of a snobby resort. So whatever

Tomorrow morning at 6:15 we depart the Lahaina Harbor for Lana'i. We'll be bringing our snorkel gear, some drinks, and cameras. Kirsten, Jason and some family and friends will be meeting us there. Niki said it's an amazing place and everyone that we've talked to says it is the most beautiful place. So I'm super excited.

It's officially getting late for me since I have to get up so early. I might be able to post a picture...we'll see.

Aloha!

We are currently sitting in a tiny squishy bookstore in Lahaina trying to post pictures so that you all can join in on the fun...but sadly its not going to work. Too much hassle and no computer that we have or can rent will do the trick. So you will all just have to live in suspense. Grandparents included!

We have had a wonderful time though. We've been to the beach lots and today we took a drive to the upcountry of maui where we went to a Lavender farm and a goat cheese farm. Very cool, and very strange.

We will write more when we return. Aloha!
